NG Switzerland 2027 · 11–12 February 2027 · Lucerne

Code of Conduct

NG Switzerland is a friendly conference. Everyone should feel welcome, safe, and comfortable to share ideas and take part in open discussion, free from intimidation or public humiliation.

Our pledge

We are committed to a harassment-free and inclusive conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, age, race, ethnicity, political affiliation, religion, or technology choices.

We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, or staff in any form. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate for any conference space, including talks.

Expected behavior

Be respectful towards other attendees, speakers, sponsors, organisers, and staff, in person and online. Treat the conference as a shared space: what you say and show affects everyone in the room.

If someone asks you to stop a behavior, stop immediately.

Unacceptable behavior

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Offensive verbal comments related to the characteristics listed above
  • Sexual images or language in any conference space, including talks
  • Deliberate intimidation
  • Stalking or following
  • Harassing photography or recording
  • Sustained disruption of talks or other events
  • Inappropriate physical contact
  • Unwelcome sexual attention

Sponsors and exhibitors

Sponsors and exhibitors are also subject to this code. Sponsors may not use sexualised images, activities, or other material, and booth staff may not wear sexualised clothing or otherwise create a sexualised environment.

Scope

This code applies in every space related to the conference: the venue, the workshop day, conference social events, and online channels including social media. It applies to all participants in every role.

Enforcement

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. Anyone who violates these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund, at the discretion of the organisers.

Report an incident

We have your back.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concern, contact a member of the conference staff immediately. Staff are identifiable by their conference t-shirts.

We will help you feel safe for the duration of the conference: contacting venue security or the police, providing an escort, or assisting in any other way you need.
